Uttarakhand offers travel relaxation to all visitors
The state government of Uttarakhand has eased travel guidelines for tourists wanting to visit the Himalayan state amidst Unlock 4.0. As tourism is the nucleus of Uttarakhand, the state has decided to ease travel terms post sustaining extensive losses due to coronavirus outbreak. With Unlock 4.0 unfurling, the state government is ardent on bringing back the tourists they lost. As per the recent developments, Uttarakhand will no longer restrict the number of tourists. Meaning, the cap of 2000 visitors a day will now be lifted and relaxation will be offered on acquiring inter and intra-state e-permits.

This arrangement has been made after considering the demands of diverse stakeholders in the tourism industry. The pandemic took a huge hit on the state’s religious tourism, in particular, that incurs massive revenue through the celebrated Char Dhams. Commenting on the state’s new travel guidelines, Uttarakhand’s official spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik said, “To enter the state, the visitors will have to register themselves on the state government smart city portal smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in and produce COVID negative report ranging in the last 72-hours.” He also added, that the state will prioritise its strength in the service, Ayurveva & eco- tourism sectors.
