Taj Bentota: A Luxurious Stay With Spectacular Ocean Views
Bentota is a beautiful resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. It’s known for its massive Buddha statue, the centuries-old Galapota Temple, Canoe Rock, Sandy Beaches, and architect Geoffrey Bawa’s gardens. My staycation at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa, a luxurious 5-star property lounging leisurely along the beach of a coral-rich paradise island, was the best thing that happened to me during my Bentota vacation. It’s a resort where you can ride a new wave and get a new twist.
Taj Bentota Resort & Spa, perched along the finest beaches of the South West coast, warmly welcomes you to a whole new world of undiscovered luxuries. Whether you prefer to stay indoors and gaze out at the blue Indian Ocean or venture outside for open-air adventures, the fun never stops. However, it is the tranquil beach vibe combined with newly renovated living spaces that distinguish this resort as one of the best in Sri Lanka. Each designated space, from a high-energy bar to fine restaurants to a relaxing spa, reflects the true spirit of Sri Lanka.
Something that catches your eye the moment you walk into the lobby under the high wood ceiling and are greeted with the humble greetings of Ayubowan, followed by a welcome drink of either Nelli, a gooseberry or passion fruit nectar, or a refreshing Ceylon iced tea. I was escorted to my deluxe sea view king bedroom, which was flooded with natural tropical sunshine, after a quick check-in. Pull back the curtains to enter your private patio with spectacular sea views and a refreshing sea breeze to help you relax.
It’s the ideal spot for you to unwind in peace. The room is a seamless blend of style and comfort in and of itself. It lives up to the Taj reputation of setting the standard for impeccable well-being, service, and hospitality.
Among the room’s amenities are complimentary hors d’oeuvres, plush bedding, a 40″ LCD TV with DVD players on request, Wi-Fi services, a work desk, additional seating area, dual-line telephones with direct international dialling, a walk-in closet, and a chic washroom with an invigorating bathtub.
The washroom has premium O2 toiletries, a hairdryer, and plenty of towels. Housekeeping is provided twice daily, with one cleaning in the morning and the other in the evening. 100% cotton robes, an iron and ironing board, and a pair of jute slippers are all available in the walk-in closet. There are also bedside tables and a luggage stand in the room.
There are two ergonomically designed cane chairs on the balcony. You can use the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi room, as well as the fitness centre, for free during your stay. The minibar has a variety of snacks, drinks, chocolate treats, and beverages, but they are all chargeable. Fruits, chocolates, and a wide selection of premium tea/coffee sachets are among the complementary offerings.
Isn’t it true that I mentioned bottled water? You have the option of requesting the newspaper of your choice in the morning. In-room dining is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the resort. This opulent resort serves equally opulent and inspired cuisine. While I was here, I had the pleasure of enjoying some delicious breakfast and dinner at The Palms, a multi-cuisine, pool-facing restaurant on the ground floor. Buffet fans will enjoy Indian, Sri Lankan, and classic international delicacies, while adventurous diners will enjoy an exciting a la carte menu.
A fantastic vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu is available. Besides, their inspired cuisine served in a vibrant dining room is just as opulent as your culinary preferences.
Take a stroll through their lushly landscaped lawns, sunbathe on the private beach, sip a cocktail at the open-air Tease Bar, indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment, or simply swim in their large palm-fringed pool with fountains to unwind.
Every nook and cranny of this hotel has the potential to turn a small miracle into a big one! It’s the best (and safest) place to stay in Bentota, and it’s ideal for both solo travellers and families.
