Laugh Out Loud With Vir Das at the Ballantine Out of Office Event
On a captivating 9th December night, Ballantine and Cafe Zoe – the exceptional cafe modelled out of a deserted factory in Mumbai – joined forces to bring us some truly out of office good times! Excitement was in the air as I finally had the chance to watch Vir Das go LIVE! Although I’ve been a regular visitor of Cafe Zoe since 2013, this was the first time I was experiencing an insane comedy night there. The venue, which is usually known for hosting music gigs, film screenings, and book launches, was ready to witness the hilarity of Vir Das. It was going to be a night to remember!
As I strolled into Cafe Zoe on this Friday night, the scene blew me away. It was illuminated with sparkling light trails and wittily embossed Ballantine placards that promised to deliver a night of hearty laughter. The perfect escape from the humdrum of the work week! I had to take a few minutes to explore the rustic decor–exposed brick walls, extensive piping, hanging bulbs, and vibrant bike rims–before hurrying off to grab the best seats. Then, I spotted it: the star of the show: “Ballantine’s Tokyo” cocktail, an irresistible beverage I could not ignore!
The room suddenly exploded with cheers and applause as Vir Das and his band sashayed onto the stage. The dashing comedian, famous for his blockbuster roles in such films as Namastey London, Santa Banta, Shivay, Revolver Rani, Delhi Belly and Badmaash Company, was here to tickle our funny bones with his clever puns. I was still munching on my mini lamb burgers when the main event began with a short musical prelude. Then, Alan Clark, the Ballantine’s brand-ambassador, took the stage to introduce the one and only Vir Das!
The crowd buzzed with anticipation as they rushed to get a glimpse of the celebrated comedian, Vir Das. Taking the stage, he let loose a flurry of comedic punches that had us in stitches, peppered with the occasional musical note. It was truly an unforgettable evening and I’m already counting down the days to his next show – an “Out of Office” experience like no other!
