Indian Tourists Will Get Preference in Nepal as They Rebuild Tourism
Nepal is all set to pursue Indian tourists post lockdown. Nepal’s Gandaki provincial government has expressed to give Indian tourists preference once the travel limitations are lifted. As per the recent reports, Bikash Lamsal, Nepal’s Tourist Minister is preparing to provide top priority to Indian tourists as they prepare for international tourist arrivals. According to the statistics, 40% of Nepal’s tourism traffic is Indian based travellers.

Lamsal announced, “Although the Nepal government was incapable of greeting international in 2019 due to the Coronavirus, they are trying to make the situation favourable in the forthcoming years.” He added, that Nepal tourism is commemorating 2019-2022 as Tourism Years, and are striving for 2-million travellers. According to the sources, 2021 will be Tourism Infrastructure Improvement Year for Nepal while 2022 will be the International Tourism Year.

This message was broadcasted in the light that Nepal’s tourism sector has undergone massive losses with regards to revenue in 2020, due to the Covid19 outbreak. Nepal is working on covering up the losses and attempting to make more vigorous resolutions for the coming years. Nepal is said to have sustained a 13-crores loss owing to the pandemic, that barred all tourist exercises.
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation in coordination with the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center has designated hotels for those in need of accommodation for quarantine.
