At present, Nagpur Railway Station has a vending machine that extends reusable and biodegradable EzySpit containers and pouches. If this vending machine gets a confident acknowledgement from the public, then Mumbai railway stations will also install comparable vending machines to facilitate passengers. The senior Commercial Manager of Nagpur Railway Station, Krishnath Patil, stated, “We are resolute to keep stations clean, and while general litter and garbage can be taken care of, spitting has been a major challenge. A pouch can be used multiple times during the journey. This pouch will prove to be a boon in these times of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
These pocket-friendly spill-proof pouches will exude a fragrance when someone spits in them. They come with an explication that would further compress the saliva, juice and vomit in less than 15 seconds. It can be disposed of thereafter. Stressing on the efficiency of these spittoons, Patil told media that these pouches are a blessing for sick commuters and seniors citizens. These pouches will help a great deal during a long journey, wherever a sick or a senior commuter is unable to visit the washroom frequently. The initiative wants to curb passengers from spitting out of the window and/or affect co-passengers.
