Maldives Air Travel Bubble Arrangement With India
The Maldives launched an air travel bubble with India in August with just 1 flight every week from Thiruvananthapuram, by Air India. That arrangement has been further extended to 3 flights each week by including Kochi to Male and return, as a likely option. These flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays respectively. The one-hour flights will leave from Kochi at 12:10 PM and land at Male at 1:10 PM. On the return route, the flight will leave from Male at 2:10 PM and arrive at Kochi at 4 PM. IndiGo has started this recent, hassle-free development of air travel bubble or fliers.

The Maldives is largely dependent on Indian vacationists for its inbound tourism. Likewise, India also gets a substantial number of medical visitors from the Maldives. The once a week Air India flight was a great start, however, with new flights on the horizon, we can expect the association connecting the two countries to grow even stronger during the pandemic. As of recent reports, passengers travelling to the Maldives until the 09th of September were not required to run a COVID test or sojourn in quarantine if asymptomatic. However, 10th September onwards, Maldives will need its visitors to bring negative RT-PCR test reports even if touring for a brief period of time. These test reports should be conducted not later than 72 hours earlier to the flight departure.
