Jetwing Lake: The Best in Dambulla
While each of the Jetwing Hotels has its own personality, the one in Dambulla boasts spectacular lake views. Jetwing Lake is a premium hotel in the calm Wijaya Kumaratunga Mawatha Yapagama neighbourhood that invites guests to its unrivalled magnificence. For a variety of reasons, it’s a basic, smart, and attractive hotel. And as soon as you go inside, you’ll notice the beautiful elegance. The welcome area is decked up with a Monarchial manifestation of a multicoloured personification encrusted on the wall with the visage of a King.
The hospitality is just as outstanding. I was given a warm towel and a hot cup of cinnamon tea when I arrived, which promptly revived me from my trip exhaustion. The check-in was quick, and I received my digital room key shortly after. The porter service delivered luggage to the room. When I initially opened the room door and walked into the spacious room with a beautiful view, I was taken aback. All I needed to see was a stunning walk-in closet on my left and a room with plenty of space. In addition, each Jetwing Lake accommodation comes with a wide balcony and a private bathroom.
Separate doors go from the room and the ensuite washroom to the opulent balcony. Phenomenal sights are guaranteed. Jetwing Lake offers beautiful accommodations with all of the amenities you’ll need for a relaxing trip. A work desk, a huge plasma TV, accessible charging ports, and tea/coffee making facilities with quality sachets are just a few of the amenities available. An electronic safe, bathrobes, a well-stocked minibar, and an ironing board are all included in the walk-in closet.
In addition, the room comes with two pairs of genuine slippers to let guests stroll around the property. What I liked best about this hotel was that it insisted on recycling and using organic items. As a result, the drinking water will be found in glass bottles. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are kept in little glass bottles in the washroom. The toilet paper is composed of organic materials, and the atmosphere is quite eco-friendly.
I was particularly taken with the king-size square bathtub with a view of the lake. You might choose to close the blinds if you want more privacy.
My room’s balcony was way too large in comparison to any other hotel balcony I’ve ever seen. I could stay here for hours, appreciating the lake’s grandeur or just contemplating the Dambulla region’s serene charm. My reservation at this hotel was on a half-board basis, meaning that I was able to dine at The Viewing Gallery for both supper and breakfast.
The Viewing Gallery, set in a lush setting, celebrates nature while incorporating some of Sri Lanka’s most delectable flavours. Furthermore, “The Viewing Gallery” provides you with the freshest Sri Lankan products to create an unusual flavour. While Sri Lankan flavours are their speciality, presented with the famed hospitality of the island, they also provide a diverse range of international food.
Tiki torches are lit in the open at night to give the eatery a rustic ambience. The delicious breakfast selection is complemented by spectacular lake views in the morning.
What can I say about the food except that it was a fantastic buffet with all of the best delicacies prepared for the in-house guests to enjoy! Jetwing Lake understands how to treat you with choices, from a diverse menu of local and foreign food to delectable desserts. I simply ate and ate till I couldn’t take it any longer. Over dinner, I also requested a glass of Dry Martini, which was not only delivered quickly but was also really tasty.
The Canopy Bar, nestled beneath the stars, is the ideal spot for an impressive drink. You may also feast on their speciality BBQ on their outside deck, beside the pool, or even in the luxury of your room. You will be given the most excellent meals with the best of Sri Lankan hospitality wherever you choose to sample their culinary delights.
I retreated to my room after a big meal and slept like a baby for the rest of the night. The morning after, greeted me with another surprise. There was a hot air balloon drifting above the lake, and just seeing that brightened my day. I ventured out to explore the pool and the lake area after a great breakfast. Swimming in the pool is made much more enjoyable by the fact that it overlooks the lake.
The lakeside, on the other hand, has a swing, a wooden seat, and a toppled-over boat to give it a more traditional feel. It’s another place where you’ll want to stay for hours, either reading a book or simply taking in the beauty of nature. I had a wonderful vacation at Jetwing Lake; if I ever return to Dambulla, this is the hotel I will stay at. Try it, you will undoubtedly thank me for recommending it in the first place.
