Experience the Comforts of Hotel Bellevue Terminus in Engelberg
Discover the delights of Switzerland at Bellevue Terminus, conveniently located opposite Engelberg railway station!
A visit to Switzerland guaranteed an exciting adventure! I was there when the snow started to thaw and the Swiss Alps witnessed an influx of visitors. After all, summer is the best time to explore the stunning Swiss valleys and mountains. I took a tour across six Swiss towns and had an absolutely delightful ‘extended vacation’ in Engelberg, a place as beautiful as an angel’s mountain! Mounted by the titanic glacial multitude of Titlis and its snow-coated peaks, Engelberg is a mesmerizing Alpine portal to countless future adventures. It is also a spiritual destination for seekers visiting the Benedictine monastery, and a holy altar for nature admirers.
In Engelberg, the gorgeous scenes of central Switzerland join forces to produce stunning miracles. The alpine town of Kloster Engelberg is a gem, boasting its famous monastery, quaint vintage accommodation, cozy bars, upscale restaurants and a turnstile to cross-country trails, suspension bridge, Lucerne, Interlaken, Jungfrau, Mount Titlis and the glacial park. For my stay in Engelberg, I opted for the splendid 18th-century hotel Bellevue Terminus that offers a breathtaking view of the alpine range.
Although the exteriors appear slightly weathered, stepping inside the hotel transports you to a world of contemporary Belle Epoque decor. The interiors are beautifully appointed with intricate patterns, and the floors are laid with deep oakwood.

Bellevue Terminus In-Room Facilities
The awe-inspiring Bellevue Terminus is the epitome of luxury, with each suite-like room boasting its own heated floor, flat-screen TV, work desk, minibar, safe, iPod docks, telephone, radio, CD-DVD player, wardrobe and complimentary Wi-Fi. But what truly sets this place apart are the chic retro-style high back reading chairs situated near the large windows, which offer stunning views of the Swiss snow-capped mountains. I can’t think of a better way to spend a chilly winter afternoon than sipping on a hot cup of cocoa, wrapped in the warmth of the central heating, and admiring the beauty of nature. What a blessing!
Bellevue Terminus houses four abodes ranging from small to extra-large – each with its own unique quirks. At BT, you can expect rain showers in the small and medium rooms, and for the luxury seeker, there are large and extra-large rooms with lovely bathtubs in the ensuite washroom. During our stay we cozied up in a medium room and were pleasantly surprised to find a stylishly open-bath with a rain shower and those oh-so-luxurious “Superwuschel” towels by Möve.
In between admiring the beautiful mountain views and clouds outside our room window, we sunk into the plush bedding provided by the Root textile factory – the perfect end to a long day of adventure! This cozy 26-28sqm room features a bohemian design, complete with mused furnishing and chic decor.
I was elated to be surrounded by the highest quality materials and the most exquisite details. Being able to both relax and work in this room with a partial balcony was simply amazing. The 5-floor Hotel Bellevue Terminus first opened its doors in 1898 with 57 rooms, and has since been able to preserve its 18th-century state-of-the-art services, while also modernising and upgrading to include the most contemporary layout with ultra-modern decor, triple-glazed windows and thermal insulation. Soak up the sun on the terrace during summer and experience the incredible hospitality of the helpful staff. All in all, this place had me wanting to stay here again in a heartbeat!
