Eiffel Tower is Re-opening on June 25 2020
Eiffel Tower is ‘scheduled’ to re-open on 25th-June following three months of shut down. Although, one will have to climb the stairs, as the elevators will be out of bounds initially. Even though Eiffel Tower is planning to greet visitors following Covid-19 lockdown, they have laid down certain guidelines. First and foremost, you must be fit given the niggling anxieties about the pandemic. The management says that this is the longest, Eiffel Tower has stayed out of action since World War Two. The French monument, which towers 1,062 feet over the French capital, expects to get operations back to normal in summer. Meanwhile, a set of security rules will be placed.
Guests will not be allowed to go higher than the 2nd-level, and the tower will only be accessible through the staircases until July. The elevators will not be in use until July as their restricted space poses a threat of Covid19 transmission. On the other hand, the staircase traffic will follow a one-way order. Each visitor over the age of 11 must wear a face mask.
Patrick Branco Ruivo, Director of the Eiffel Tower Operations, said, “To attract people, the most important thing, is that security measures are taken. That’s why we’re promoting safe distances.” He added, “That with foreign travel yet to recover from restrictions put in place to slow the pandemic, most of the visitors would in the initial stage be domestic. For the French public, this is the moment to come to the Eiffel Tower.”
