Ramayana Suites: A Luxury Resort in Bali
I stayed at Ramayana Suites and Resorts for four nights on a recent work trip to Bali. I was on the 6th level for the first two nights and the 8th floor for the following two nights. When I initially arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with a turmeric beverage. It was, without a doubt, something very unique.
The reception area, however, is not air-conditioned, which is a big disappointment. That’s the last thing you’d expect from a four-star hotel in Bali, given the city’s hot and humid weather. Having said that, the receptionists were kind and helpful, and the check-in was rapid.

Ramayana Suites Room 627
Shortly after, I was led to the elevator, and my baggage was delivered through porter service. 627, the first room, for example, is a spacious room with an enclosed sitting area, a kitchenette and a business desk. I enjoyed the plush bedding and the off-white wall colour, accentuated by three vertical paintings over the headrest. Lamps are on either side of the bed, and the room offers adequate illumination overall. The ensuite bathroom, devoid of a bathtub, has an ethnic flavour to it thanks to a rustic mirror and wooden amenities cabinet.
The washroom interiors feature artwork with LV monograms stamped on them. A single blue-tiled wall runs the length of the separate wash area within the washroom. The attached dispensers for shampoo and body wash are located on one of the sidewalls. The basin, on the other hand, comes with a liquid hand soap bottle but no conditioner or body lotion.
The essentials are covered as long as you want to spend most of your time touring. Water was available from a dispenser in the extended sitting area. That was cumbersome since you’d have to travel across the bedroom to obtain water if you were thirsty in the middle of the night. To be honest, bottled water would have been way handier! I was also underwhelmed by housekeeping, who managed to clean the room the next day but left the washroom in its previous state.
During my stay at Ramayana Suites & Resort, I was also entitled to a complimentary breakfast at Gabah restaurant. Unfortunately, this in-house restaurant, like the reception, is again not air-conditioned. There was a large variety of local and foreign foods on offer for breakfast. Ote Ote, Soto Ayam, Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, sausages, Danish bread, and other items were provided. There’s also a live cooking station where you may get your eggs cooked to your liking. You may choose from a selection of juices and tea/coffee to suit your tastes.
8th Floor Stay
On the third day of my stay, I was assigned a room on the 8th floor. I had to check in again as in between I went to explore Nusa islands and was away for two nights. The 8th-floor room, however, has a characteristic countenance with a larger bed. Although I enjoyed the room’s design, I wasn’t impressed with the in-room amenities. The tea/coffee maker was placed behind the television in a cabinet. There was, however, no power switch to allow for a direct connection.
So every time I needed a cup of tea or coffee, I had to take the complete set out and plug it into a charging station next to the TV. Bottled water was given, which was a plus. The two complimentary mineral water bottles may be found inside the washroom if you are staying on the 8th level. Bathrobes were not available in the room on the 6th floor, but they were available in the room on the 8th floor, so choose your floor appropriately. However, both rooms are fitted with a big TV. Although this room was significantly spacious than the previous one, it came with a small balcony.
This room’s en suite bathroom includes a bathtub and complimentary amenities. A chaise lounger and a practical work desk are also included in the room’s amenities. Overall, it was good accommodation, but it might have been even better with more charging stations and a better location for the tea/coffee maker. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool in addition to the big rooms. They also have a great poolside bar, which is a nice bonus.
Overall, Ramayana Suites and Resorts is a pleasant hotel with room for growth in terms of amenities. I would never stay here if I were to visit Bali at my expense. The hotel, however, is in the middle of the city, close to markets, restaurants, and Kuta Beach. If decent service and in-room amenities aren’t a priority for you, you should surely stay here.
