Smile Deke Dekho: The New LAYS Smile
In August, I was ecstatic to be called by Edelman India, Lay’s Digital agency, to be a part of their new “Smile Deke Dekho” influencer campaign. The advertising agency conducted numerous photoshoots with the influencers over the following few weeks, capturing a range of smiles. These smileys might instantly brighten your mood by being witty, flirty, or just charming.
Lays picked India’s top influencers to introduce their new packaging on World Smile Day, with very clear promotional aims. In just a few days, the campaign is estimated to have generated over 70 million impressions. While Lay’s India has been active in advertising, the flavour and packaging of its products have been consistent for many years. As a result, ‘Smile Deke Dekho’ is a wonderful effort that sticks out, particularly because the firm chose to provide influencers from various sectors with customised smile packaging.
The campaign’s initial glimpse was released on social media, followed by a series of TV commercials starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The entire point of establishing this ad was to help individuals form bonds over a bag of Lay’s potato chips. “When you mix a smile with Lays, the results are magical,” said Dilen Gandhi, the campaign’s senior marketing director. To promote the campaign further, the firm gave the influencers a money-can’t-buy moment by giving them bespoke Lays packs with their smiles on them.
On World Smile Day, Lays undoubtedly made the entire country smile. It’s amazing how a smile can converge feelings universally and naturally. Mine is yellow, and it’s the usual salted flavour, which I adore. Lays made it more enjoyable by sending me additional smiling packs in a stylish canvas and leather bag. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Erica Jennifer Fernandes, Parth Samthaan, Aashika Bhatia, and Roshini Bhatia are some of the most well-known influencers engaged with this campaign.
